FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW IS SCOT BROWN CONSTRUCTION DIFFERENT FROM ITS COMPETITORS?

Scot Brown Construction gives you the attention to detail you receive working with a small company with the peace of mind, licensing, and insurance of the big firms. With nearly 20 years of experience serving the Sandhills, the strong ties to the community allows us to source top of the line service and materials for all of our clients.

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

Yes, we are a licensed North Carolina general contractor and carry general liability (GL) insurance, and workers compensation. Quality, health and safety is priority in all that we do.

WHAT IS YOUR SERVICE AREA?

SBC primarily serves Moore County.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET AN ESTIMATE AND HOW LONG IS IT VALID?

Our goal is to be on-site for a consult within the week pending geographic location. The speed for written estimates depends on the size of the job and are provided for all work. Generally we hold prices for 30 days. When the markets are volatile, sometimes we can only hold prices for a week.

DO YOU USE SUBCONTRACTORS?

We work closely with subcontractors. All subcontractors are vetted meticulously and we often have strong ties that go back for years with most every subcontractor we work with on a project.

We see the benefit of working with subcontractors as twofold: 1) working with subcontractors allows us to fill the unique needs of every project through specialized expertise if required and 2) continue to serve the rising demands on the housing industry as the Sandhills quickly grow.

We ultimately take full ownership for the quality of all projects and will ensure the work is done correctly before we call the job complete.

HOW DOES YOUR PAYMENT WORK AND DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?

Once an estimate and plans have been officially signed and approved by both parties, 1/3 of the contract price is due to begin work. Additionally, any special order items will be required to be paid in full when ordering per distributor requirements.  The remainder of the balance will be paid within 7 days of completion of the project.

Financing is not offered through SBC. However, we have several local lending options we are happy to recommend.
